Tips and guidance for selling your aircraft through Plane Sales Australia.
1. Prepare Your Aircraft For Sale
Ensure your aircraft is clean, well-maintained, and all documentation is up to date. Complete any outstanding maintenance items and airworthiness directives. Get some great images. We allow up to 20 images but always take more, the first request from most buyers is "can I have some more pictures". Have documents as PDF's ready to upload to your listing.
2. Set a Competitive Price
Research similar aircraft on Plane Sales Australia to understand current market values. Consider the aircraft's total time, engine time, prop time, avionics, and overall condition. Consider if publishing a price is important or weather you have "offers, POA etc. (HINT: Buyers LOVE IT when a price is stated)
3. Create Your Listing
Write a detailed description including specifications, equipment, and maintenance history highlights. If you have any videos, we accept You Tube links that are directly embedded into your listings.
4. Manage Enquiries
Respond promptly to enquiries. Not all enquiries look the same. Some can be 2 or 3 words, others may ask 4 or 5 questions. Be transparent about the aircraft's condition and history. Arrange inspections and test flights for serious buyers. Make sure that test flights are flown by pilots with "time on type". 5. Complete the Sale
Handle CASA registration transfer, ensure 100% of the price is secured before handover, and provide all logbooks and documentation to the buyer.
